Kottayam: George Varughese (Georgie, 85), founder and managing director of the Midas Group of Companies, passed away on Thursday. He belonged to the Panampunna family in Kottayam.

The body will be brought to the Panampunna family home (Kallukunnu), Kanjikuzhy, at 9 am on Saturday. Prayers will be held at the residence at 3 pm, followed by the funeral service at 4 pm at Jerusalem Mar Thoma Church, Kottayam.

Wife: Late Mariam Varughese of the Cunnumpurath Akkara family.
Children: Sarah, Varkey Varughese, Paulose Varughese, and the late Anna.
Children-in-law: Dr Mathew George Kurudamannil (USA), Tarun Chanda (New Delhi), Divya (Pullumplayil), and Malini (Thayyil Kandathil).
