A woman died and three others were injured after a car crashed into an autorickshaw in Payyannur on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Khadeeja K, a native of Udumbuthala.

The Payyannur police have registered a case against the accused, Abhijith, a native of Neeleswaram in Kasaragod, under Sections 281 (rash and negligent driving endangering public life), 125(1) (rash act endangering human life) and 105 (culpable homicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to the FIR, around 9.15 pm, near the old bus stand in Payyannur, a car coming from the Keloth side rammed into an autorickshaw carrying passengers to Udumbuthala.
