What’s a festival without children!
At Manorama Hortus, a vibrant Children’s Pavilion is all set to welcome young minds with stories, poetry, clay, and colours. The space will come alive with learning, songs, drama, painting, board games — and even a special tasting event! So tell your family right away, visit the Hortus website, and register for your favourite sessions.
Here’s the lineup of children’s programmes at Manorama Hortus, the art, literature, and cultural festival being held at Subhash Park, Kochi, from November 27 to 30:
November 27 (Thursday) – Balarama Digest Quiz, Akhila Kannadasan’s storytelling session – The Lost Elephant and the Soul Tree, and a fun banana-tasting programme.
November 28 (Friday) – Induvum Kurunnukalum (Indu and the children) – join Indulekha Warrier for stories and songs, along with a storytelling session by Nandita da Cunha. Kids can get creative at With Art Group’s pottery workshop and learn to mould shapes in clay. Another highlight: Map the Wild, an engaging board game.
November 29 (Saturday) – Storytelling with Lavanya Karthik and Paro Anand; learn to draw Suthran, the hit Balarama character, and create your own Suthra story. Sangeeta Kadur’s nature journalling walk through Subhash Park will help kids sketch leaves, trees, and stones from real life. There’s also a theatre workshop by Walter Peter and another round of banana tasting.
November 30 (Sunday) – Poetry workshop with Indulekha Warrier; storytelling sessions by Vaishali Shroff and Khyrunnisa A; a children’s play by LaaPoLaa Children’s Front; and another session of the Map the Wild board game.
