Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Water Authority (KWA) has temporarily shut down the Aruvikkara 72 mld Water Treatment Plant from 10 am on Sunday to repair a leak in the 1200 mm CI pipe that supplies water from Aruvikkara to Vellayambalam. The shutdown will continue till 10 am on Monday.

Water supply will be disrupted in the following areas under the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation: Palayam, Kannammoola, Vanchiyoor, Thampanoor, Vazhuthacaud, Petta, Palkulangara, Sreekanteswaram, Chackai, Kadakampally, Anamukham, Karikkakom Vettukad, Shankumugham, Poundukadavu, Kunnukuzhy, Nanthancode, Pattom, Sasthamangalam, Thaikkad, Valiyavila, Pipinmoodu, Vellayambalam, Jawahar Nagar and Kowdiar. The KWA has asked consumers to make prior arrangements to manage the disruption.
