Thrissur: A car owner who went to reclaim his rented vehicles in Thrissur was driven for several kilometres on the bonnet at Erumapetty here on Friday morning. In visuals of the incident, the car owner is seen lying on the bonnet and screaming for help as the vehicle speeds through the road. He had a narrow escape from a major accident.

Solomon, a native of Aluva, had rented out his two high-end cars to Bakkar, a native of Tirur, Thrissur. Later, both parties reached an understanding that Bakkar would transfer ownership of a piece of land to Solomon instead of continuing the rental agreement. However, when this agreement was allegedly violated, Solomon filed a complaint with the Binanipuram police in Ernakulam.

Following this, Solomon went to trace the vehicles. An argument broke out between him and Bakkar on Friday morning at Erumapetty. During the heated exchange, the accused drove the car away with Solomon on the bonnet, creating panic on the busy stretch.

"On Friday morning, Solomon saw Backer in the Erumapetty area and confronted him. During the altercation, Backer attempted to drive away in the car. To block the attempt, Solaman stood in front of the vehicle. But Backer moved the car, and Solamon clung to the bonnet. Despite repeated pleas, Backer did not stop the vehicle, which moved for over five kilometres," police said.
