Kiara Advani says she is open to offers from the Malayalam film industry

The wavering drama at the Tarun Tahiliani show on the second day of the Kalyan Jewellers M4Marry Wedding Week 2018 climaxed with a sharp change from orchestral music to Indian drums as showstopper Kiara Advani glided across the runway in an exquisite mauve lehenga.

You might remember the Bollywood starlet from her roles in web series ‘Lust Stories’ and film ‘M S Dhoni: An untold story.’ Not only did she win hearts of her audience but also garnered some praise from critics for her acting skills. Here’s your chance to get to know the budding superstar as she got candid with Onmanorama after the show.

The south-Indian connection

Kiara found her love for south India while working for a Telugu political drama film ‘Bharat Ane Nenu,’ early this year. She has already started filming another Telugu film and says she is open to offers from the Malayalam film industry too. Her only condition being that the project should be ‘exciting.’ “I am a very instinctive person. So when I sit with the director for narration, a magic should happen and I instantly know I want to play this character,” she says.

She has also fallen for Kochi on her first visit here and says she wants to explore more of the beautiful city.

The bridal fantasy

Wearing Tarun Tahiliani’s design brought out the bride in Kiara and all she wanted after wearing it was a ‘mandap’ and a groom! She said her fantasy bridal attire was surprisingly exactly like what Tarun customised for her. “Pink is my colour and the Sindhi in me loves all the shine and dazzle,” she said, twirling in her attire. Not only was she going gaga over the use of crystals and embellishments on the piece, she couldn’t help but mention how comfortable the lehenga was despite being so elaborate. Comfort comes first for this bride.

All that glitters

Complementing her lehenga was exquisite diamond jewellery that was sponsored by Kalyan Jewellers and brought specially all the way from Delhi to adorn the star guest. The maroon-tinged haath-phool (hand bracelet) was what caught the actress’ attention. She playfully asked if all these exquisite pieces were being gifted to her as she really did not want to part with them.
