Use potato juice to boost hair growth, prevent dandruff

Everybody loves to flaunt long and luscious hair. However, maintaining such hair is not an easy task. Unhealthy lifestyle, food habits, hard water, dust, and various chemicals affect the hair adversely. Heredity is also a factor for healthy hair.

By using some items readily available in the kitchen, we can make our hair long, shiny, and healthy. The common potato is one among them. In fact, potato juice helps hair to grow long.

Applying products containing various chemicals will damage the hair. But potato juice has several vitamins which act as antioxidants and repair the damage to collagen. Collagen is the protein present in skin and other tissues. This also helps in growth of hair.

Use of potato juice on the scalp will stimulate the hair cells enabling quick growth.

Breakage of hair may occur if it is oily. The starch present in potato juice removes the excess oil on the scalp and follicles, aiding healthy hair growth. If the scalp is dry, dandruff may develop. Dryness can be prevented by applying a mixture of potato and lemon juice to the scalp. This will also enable growth of hair.

Potato juice serves as a remedy for hair fall too as it strengthens the weak hair roots.

After applying the potato juice on the scalp, massage for at least 15 minutes. This will help improve the circulation and increase hair growth. The juice can later be washed away with warm water. This procedure needs to be done at least three times a month.

Method of preparation

The first step to prepare the juice is peeling the potato after thoroughly washing it. Then grate it. This grated potato has to be squeezed hard with the hand to obtain the juice, which should be immediately applied to the hair. Potato juice can also be prepared using a juicer. But it should be sieved properly before using on the scalp.
