Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka were given a rousing welcome in Wayanadu, Kerala, recently when the duo were there to submit Rahul's nomination papers to contest in the election from the Lok Sabha constituency. The district was in focus of the entire nation for a while.

As Rahul Gandhi, acommpanied by Priyanka, campaigned in the constituency, the crowd joistled and heaved to catch a glimpse of the latter.

Politics apart, with her classy and elegant sartorial choices, Priyanka Gandhi is regarded as one of the most eulogised fashion icons in the country. Also, her uncanny resemblance to her grandmother and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, adds to her charm.

Priyanka Gandhi oozes grace and poise in her gait and smiles even as she interacts with people. The firebrand leader commands attention in her crisp and elegant cotton Sarees which has become her signature style.

Besides cotton, Priyanka is often spotted wearing Kancheepuram, Nalgonda, Pochampally, Benaras and Sambalpur Sarees. Her love for the six yards has earned her the title of the brand ambassador of the Indian handloom. Recently, Priyanka was at her elegant best in an amazing combination of black, maroon and green, at her Ganga ‘yatra’ as part of her election campaign.

The crimson hued Chettinad Saree too has wooed fashion enthusiasts. Priyanka Gandhi’s mother Sonia Gandhi too is an avid lover of sarees and mostly prefers handloom sarees in lighter shades.
