Lucky are those who are able to grab opportunities when they come along. For this Kochi girl, the journey to her dream was easier than in a fairy-tale. Nikitha Thomas, the youngest daughter of Thomas Ninan-Anitha Thomas couple, started working towards her ambition of becoming a beauty queen only after she turned 18. Just six months down the lane, she has conquered two prestigious titles: Miss South India 2019 and Miss Queen of India (first runner up.) It is a play of passion and talent behind Nikitha's success.
The 19-year-old is a fan of Indian party-couture. She loves flaunting lehengas, anarkalis and accessorize richly in accordance. Nikitha says that the heaviness of couture doesn't matter to her if she looks good in it. Earrings is her lucky ornament. “I don't ever go out without wearing earrings. My style statement vests in my earrings,” she says. The dashing teen has a wide collection of earrings, starting from tiny studs to heavily ornated ear-pieces.
When it comes to casual wear, Nikitha would rather choose freely from her western wardrobe. What would a modern-day teenager choose on casual occasion than a denim and tee, she asks. However, she is a fan of Dresses, frocks and one-pieces.
Maybelline is her favorite cosmetic brand. She enhances either her eyes or her lips while going out. Not a very big fan of bindis, Nikitha lifts up her face using a subtle shaded blush.
This aspiring young model is never comfortable on high-heels. She flaunts flat, open sandals ditching shoes and wedges. However, she dons high heels on ramps with elan.
The teen admits that she has done rounds and rounds of personal grooming before she presented herself at the pageants. But the surprising fact is, she did it all by herself. “I watched YouYube videos of personal grooming sessions and practiced them myself. I discovered my weak point first and started concentrating on it. Having overcome my barrier, I don't feel ashamed to reveal that my weak point was lack of presence of mind,” a confident Miss South India told Onmanorama.
Nikitha dreams of representing India on an international beauty pageant. The second year BBA student at Rajagiri college, Kochi, also aims of pursuing MBA and owning a business in future.
Nikitha's father Thomas Ninan is an NRI and her mother Anitha, stays home but runs a small business. Her elder sister Neethu is married and settled in the US.
