Actor Malavika Mohan is quite a natural talent as she comes across in the recently released Vijay-starrer ‘Master.’ Her first act was in the Malayalam movie ‘Pattom Pole, opposite Dulquer Salman. Malavika is now quite active in South and Bollywood. Her portrayal of Tara in iconic director Majid Majidi’s ‘Beyond the Clouds’ had come in for critical acclaim.

The colour is pink
Pink is Malavika’s favourite colour. It is a colour that radiates happiness. She says things in pink strike her first and it attracts her.
Indian style
Malavika admires Indian wear and has a liking for it over western. She has a special liking for sarees but is equally comfortable in a pair of shorts and t-shirt. She says she picks up her dress in tune with the mood.
Ethnic ways to beauty
Malavika says she uses Ayurveda-based products. As face-pack, she uses red-sander paste. Coconut oil is the natural choice as a make-up remover. She vouches for the hair oil from Arya Vaidya Sala for hair care.
Jewellery
She prefers imitation jewellery over gold. She says taking care of gold and keeping it safe is a task.
Fitness
Malavika says she was active in athletics during her studies. Now, she tries to catch up with some work-out. Yoga takes a lot of time and she would opt for faster exercises. She takes care of her diet to maintain fitness and avoids unhealthy food. It is idli, appam, and dosa at home. Malavika says she likes biriyani but avoids it for health and fitness reasons.
Malavika had to go on a strict diet during the shooting of ‘Beyond the Clouds.’ The team wanted a reduction of 8 kg in 18 days. There was a nutritionist to help and she adhered to all the instructions. She managed to reduce 5 kg for the film. Malavika says she went on such a regimented diet for the first and last time for that movie.
