When noted make-up artist Sreelatha Sreechithira posted the makeover pictures of 62 year old Padmini on her social media page, she hardly imagined that the pictures would become so sensational. Now, her inbox is bombarded with congratulatory messages and enquiries too. Most people are in awe of the unbelievable makeover of Padmini.
Sreelatha says she didn’t have many customers during the lockdown period. So, instead of sitting idle, she decided to do something creative and interesting. When Sreelatha asked her neighbour Padmini whether she could become her model, the latter didn’t think twice to nod ‘yes’.
“You have to be careful while doing makeup on mature skin. Only then could you achieve the perfect natural look. The eye makeup that I did for Padmini was lighter than the regular ‘bridal look’. The makeup took longer than usual as her skin has wrinkles. These features would get projected even if the makeup had gone slightly overboard. I had this in mind when I was doing her makeup,” says Sreelatha.
Interestingly, Padmini had worn her own wedding saree that is more than three and half decades old. Sreelatha’s daughter too had helped in the makeover. The makeup artist realized that her work has become a spectacular hit when messages started flooding her social media accounts, congratulating her for doing something interesting like this.
Sreelatha runs a makeover studio called Sree Chithira at Attingal in Thiruvananthapuram. Meanwhile, Padmini who was a former employee at the secretariat is enjoying her retired life.
