Meet the Keralite who is representing India at US beauty pageant

Gayatri Sreelatha, a Malayali, is representing India at the Miss Cosmos International pageant being held from July 4 to 9 in Orlando, Florida, USA. Gayatri was picked as Miss Cosmos India in the pageant held in Mumbai last year. She won the competition beating 150 finalists. There were more than 1,000 contestants from all over India. With this, she became eligible to participate in Miss Cosmos International.

The International Glamour Projects (TIGP) organized the preliminary competitions in India last August. The judges' panel was headed by Bollywood star and former Miss India Celina Jaitley. Gayatri, an engineering graduate, works as a senior manager at Tata Motors. A trained dancer and Kathakali artiste, she has performed in India and abroad and has also appeared in music albums and some short films. She is the daughter of Malayapuzha native Satish Kumar, who works in Dubai as an Engineer and Dr. Sreelatha. Gopikrishnan, the only brother, is an engineering student.

More than 100 contestants will participate in the Miss Cosmos International competition, which has been held in various countries of the world since 1951, representing various countries of the world and various American states. The competition has been organized for years by Crown Garlands LLC; an organization officially recognized by the President of the United States. This year's Miss Cosmos International Grand Finale will begin on July 8 at 3:00 pm US time, following preliminary rounds at the Omni Resort venues in Orlando from July 4.
