Appu’s brand new abode named ‘Tapovanam’ which stands in 20 cents in Chittar, near Pala in Kottayam instantly grabs attention for its serene white hue and chic box-style elevation. The contemporary house has been designed to cater to the demands and likes of the owner and his family.
Designed in 2450 sqft, this amazing abode has a sit-out, living area, office space, a bedroom, swimming pool, dining area and kitchen with an adjacent work area on the ground floor. Meanwhile, there is a family living area, bedroom and open terrace on the upper floor. The swimming pool, the photo wall that is filled with pictures and souvenirs that Appu, a travel enthusiast has collected from his various trips, the bay windows in the bedrooms and the office room and the custom-made cat cage in the family living area are some of the highlights of this house.
The beautifully furnished living area is arranged to the right side of the entrance area. The living area with a double-height ceiling boasts textured designer elements. The photo wall too is close to the entrance door and the office area is just adjacent to this. A common bathroom is arranged close to the office space for visitors. Tiles in matte finish have been paved on the floor. Meanwhile, eye-catching Moroccan patterns have been used to elevate the bathrooms and the wash area.
Interestingly, the swimming pool is built at a spot that is easily visible from the living area, dining space and bedroom. The patio close to the swimming pool makes this area incredibly attractive. A mud jali wall has been built here to ensure excellent air circulation. Meanwhile, the classic French windows ensure that the spaces are well-lit with natural light. The open kitchen has all the modern facilities. A quaint breakfast table too has been arranged here. The master bedroom from where the beautiful view of the swimming pool could be enjoyed boasts of all the luxurious amenities.
The upper floor has been designed by giving importance to open spaces. As the house stands on a raised plot, provisions have been left to design a beautiful landscape that compliments the structure. A mango tree has been planted close to the house in a specially constructed platform. The monolith shows a wall that conceals the double height of the structure grants a classy elegance to the elevation. Interestingly, wooden elements are scarcely used in this house. Meanwhile, the main doors are built using heavy-duty steel metal. The windows are done in UPVC. An electric vehicle charging point too has been arranged outside the house.
‘Tapovanam’ is a modern abode where beauty meets practicality. Appu, who adopts orphan dogs, has arranged a special place in the house to keep them.
