Shweta Sharda, hailing Chandigarh, has been crowned as Miss Diva Universe 2023 in a glittering event in Lalit Mumbai. One of the most inclusive beauty pageants, the competition saw 16 contestants out of the 160 shortlisted participants competing in the final.
While Sonal Kukreja has been crowned Miss Diva Supranational 2023, Trisha Shetty was adjudged Miss Diva Universe 2023 runner-up. Reigning queens Divita Rai and Pragnya Ayyagari crowned their successors.
By this victory, 22-year-old Shweta Sharda has secured the privilege of representing India at the 72nd Miss Universe to be held in El Salvador on 18 November 2023.
The panel of judges included reigning Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, actors Sangeeta Bijlani, Pratik Gandhi and Srinidhi Shetty, renowned designers Abhishek Sharma and Nikita Mhaisalkar, acclaimed photographer Jatin Kampani and so on. Sonal Kukreja will be representing India at the 12th edition of Miss Supranational.
According to a press release, the 11th edition of Miss Diva 2023 stood out as the epitome of inclusivity as it welcomed individuals of various relationship statuses and orientations to take part in the pageant. The competition was open to married, divorced, pregnant, engaged, widowed, and even trans women.
