Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan tied the knot with her long-term partner Nupur Shikhare in an intimate ceremony on January 3 in Mumbai. Nupur, who is a fitness trainer, was criticised for his unusual sartorial choices during the ceremony. The groom had paired a casual vest with shorts for his wedding registration. Meanwhile, many were surprised that Ira and Nupur chose to get married in a simple ceremony. However, it was only the beginning of elaborate wedding festivities that were held in a luxury resort in Rajasthan. The celebrity couple has now exchanged vows in a white wedding which will be followed by a grand reception.
The pictures of the white wedding have already taken the internet by storm. Ira radiated elegance in a custom-made white gown. For her special day, Ira opted for a sheer white gown with simple embroidered sleeves. She tied her hair in a sleek bun and adorned it with a beautiful veil. Meanwhile, Nupur looked dapper in a champagne-hued tuxedo.
The father of the bride, actor Aamir Khan, wore a classic black tuxedo for the ceremony. The picture of the actor fixing Ira’s veil has become a rage on social media. After the ceremony, Ira and Nupur sealed their love with a kiss. Meanwhile, a video in which Aamir Khan is seen wiping tears while the couple exchanged rings has captured the hearts of the netizens. Ira was beaming with joy while she was walked down the aisle by her parents Aamir and Reena.
The wedding ceremony was held at the luxury Taj Aravali resort in Udaipur. Close friends and relatives from both sides attended the wedding festivities that lasted for four days. The grand festivities began on 8 January with a Sangeet ceremony followed by mehendi and a pajama party.
Ira Khan’s bridal trousseau has been winning hearts for its unconventional style statement. For the sangeet ceremony, Ira wore a lehenga with heavy and intricate embroidery designs. Ira ditched the regular dupatta for a hooded cape. She looked resplendent in the richly embroidered royal blue lehenga. Nupur complemented her with gold brocade blazer and black trousers. Interestingly, a football match between the bride and groom’s parties and workout sessions too were organized as part of the wedding festivities.
Ira had tried to bring a personal touch to her looks for her wedding registration too. She charmed everyone in a dhoti pant, blouse, and a dupatta. She completed her look with a Kolhapuri chappal and a smartwatch.
