The house stands out for its unique construction which features geometrical patterns highlighted by the GI pipe pillar that begins from the ground floor and continues upward.

Varghese Mathai, a businessman based in Saudi Arabia, is the proud owner of this stunning house built at Kalamassery in Ernakulam, Kerala. The plot in which this house stands doesn’t have a convenient layout. However, architect Sujith K Nagesh, who designed the beautiful abode, didn’t see it as a disadvantage. He, instead, took advantage of the unique structure of the plot and designed such an elegant house with all the modern facilities. The three-storied house, flaunts a circular formation, which is an eye-catching feature.

This house is just 100 meters away from the Kalamassery metro rail station. Besides, the national highway runs in front of the house. The 16 cents plot is around 2 meters below the level of the highway. Hence, the stunning view of the elevation could be enjoyed from the highway and also while riding in a metro train. The driveway, in circular shape, that begins from the main gate ends at the entrance of the house. At least three cars could be parked at a time in the spacious car porch on the ground floor.

The house stands out for its unique construction which features geometrical patterns highlighted by the GI pipe pillar that begins from the ground floor and continues upward. This pillar, besides supporting the structure, also acts as a designer element.

The entrance door leads to the formal living area. The wall on the left side of the formal living area too features a circular form. Meanwhile, the wall on the right side has been highlighted using attractive wall papers. Long windows bring in lots of pleasant sunshine and cool breeze. The false ceiling which is made of wood and gypsum board is complimented with indirect lighting. Besides, a pergola too has been added in veneer finish.

The circular wall in the formal living area continues to the family living space as well. The floor level of the family living and the dining spaces is a bit altered and there is a small passage here. The door on the left side of this passage opens to the balcony. The view of the gate is possible from this balcony.

The family living area is designed in double height. The ceiling features a curved shape which is incredibly amazing. Meanwhile, the hanging light in the middle makes the interiors look classy and enchanting.

The stairway is made attractive by paving teak wood panels that are 2 inches thick. Indirect lighting elevates the spectacular look of the stair area. Glass pillars are built below the stairway, which look quite amazing.

The dining-cum-modular-kitchen is designed as a free flowing space. The unique ceiling work with the light fittings could be seen in the dining area as well. A compact and classy design pattern has been followed in the bedrooms. The circular walls are the highlight of the rooms too.

Wall papers adorn the head rests. Veneer panelling and the wooden flooring are all features that make the bedrooms extremely beautiful and comfortable as well.

There are three bedrooms, a common area and a balcony on the second floor. One can enter the triangle shaped balcony from the common area. This balcony offers stunning views of the metro rail and the highway. A vertical garden has been arranged here to add a hint of greenery.

The owner is someone who greatly enjoys the vibrancy and fast pace of the metro life. The architect says he has chosen unique design patterns and features that would cater to the interests and preferences of the family members.
