The exteriors exude impeccable charm as it gracefully features a blend of colonial and classic architectural styles.

Bijoy George’s brand new house, in Kodungallur, Thrissur, Kerala, stands in an 11 cents rectangular plot on the road side. The structure is built by leaving enough space for a beautiful front yard. The family had demanded, in unison, that their dream abode should have unique features and designs that are different from usual ones. The exteriors exude impeccable charm as it gracefully features a blend of colonial and classic architectural styles. Only the roof that is visible from the front is slanted. The rest of the roof area is flat with truss work installed to lower the heat inside the house. Stylish roofing tiles are paved here which makes it look amazing.

The car porch with polycarbonate roofing is built separately from the main structure. The pavement tiles used on the front yard allow rain water to seep into the ground. Besides retaining the grand old mango tree that already stood in the plot, lush green meadows too are arranged as part of the stunning landscape.

This spectacular house, designed in 2950 sq ft area, has a car porch, sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with an adjacent work area and four bedrooms. The interiors are designed in the open style. The serene shade of white dominates both the exteriors and the interiors, making the spaces look extremely pleasant and vaster as well.

One could enter the main area of the house from a quaint sit-out and a foyer space. The dining area is the heart of the house, which is designed in double height. The wooden beading on the sky lit ceiling not only helps push out warm air but also acts as a designer feature. The family living area is arranged just beside the dining space. A TV unit too is part of this spacious hall. The furnishing and panelling are all done in plywood and veneer finish.

The prayer area is arranged on a wall in the dining area. The jali cuttings and the designer lamps make this space incredible attractive.

The bedrooms are designed without compromising on the facilities. The bath-attached bedrooms have in – built wardrobes for storage and separate dressing areas as well. The kitchen cabinets are made in marine plywood with PU finish. Black granite is paved on the counter top. A small breakfast counter completes the kitchen area.

This house becomes extra special as it has stylish exteriors, cosy and comfortable interiors and all the necessary facilities arranged in a space efficient manner.
