This amazing home in Thrissur is a tribute to colonial architecture

Gigie is someone who greatly values family bonds and wishes to be closer to them. It was this respect for traditions which prompted him to build his dream home in the plot that he inherited as family property even though he is settled abroad. Most of his family members live around his house. This beautiful house has been designed, taking advantage of the unique features of the 30 cents plot.

The bucolic settling of Pavaratti in Thrissur plays a vital role in making this house special. The elevation features the perfect blend of the colonial and the contemporary architectural styles. Most of the facilities are arranged in the ground floor itself. Meanwhile, there is only a bedroom in the upper storey.

The formal and the family living areas are arranged on both sides of the passage that begins from the foyer. The gypsum and veneer false ceiling add a classy elegance to the interiors. Meanwhile, the charming wall papers and the designer furnishing enhance the luxurious look of the spaces.

The interiors are designed as floating spaces. The sliding glass doors that line one of the walls in the living and the dining areas are truly spectacular. The roller shutter in the formal living area could be raised to reveal the glass door. From here, one could grab a glance of Gigie’s brother’s house which is close by.

Similarly, one can enjoy the views from the beautiful landscape from the dining area. The reading room, which is one of the most creative spaces in the house, is the highlight of the interiors. The custom-made furniture and the vitrified tiles that are paved on the floor perfectly compliment the designer spaces. Besides, the neutral shades and the classy lighting enhance the elegant look of the interiors.

The open spaces are interconnected in the most beautiful way. The kitchen-cum-dining space is separated by a quaint pantry area. The presence of indoor plants adds a hint of greenery to this area.

The smartly designed interiors are always filled with positive vibes and comfort. The beautiful wall papers and the ceilings make the bedrooms extremely charming. The long passage leads to the bedrooms and the stairway as well. A party space too has been arranged on the left side of the house.
