Ranjith’s brand new house at Cherpu in Thrissur district is an absolute head turner and never fails to excite curiosity. This stunning mansion is built on a sprawling 1 acre land that lies in multiple levels. The family wanted to build their dream abode without altering the natural slopes and the lush greenery. They didn’t want to level the land for the construction. So, the interiors of this house are smartly designed in multiple levels to suit the unique structure of the plot.

The house features an elegant blend of traditional and modern architectural styles. The multi layered sloped roof is paved with tiles to add a chic look to the exteriors. Apart from the main gate, there is a wicket gate as well. The elaborate sit out that oozes traditional charm is reminiscent of an old tharavad. Pillars with wooden finish and the back rests exude an old world charm. One could enter the house from the sit-out through the foyer.

This majestic mansion, designed lavishly in 6500 sq ft, has a car porch, spacious sit-out, foyer, formal and family living areas, courtyard, dining space, kitchen with work area, four bedrooms, upper living area, balcony and an open terrace. The car porch is built separately to project the fascinating features of the exteriors. A major portion of the house in square feet has been left open as breathing spaces to make the house airy and comfortable.

The interiors that are designed in the open theme allow uninterrupted view of the entire house from the entrance itself. The courtyard filled with greenery is the soul of the interiors. The spaces are arranged in such a way that one could catch a glimpse of this mesmerizing space from everywhere. The sun light that comes in through the skylight here illuminates the interiors. The indoor plants and the shiny pebbles elevate the classy look of the courtyard. Huge glass openings are installed to enjoy the freshness of the courtyard from the dining area.

Besides vitrified tiles, wooden finish tiles and wooden flooring add to the perfect look of the interiors. The colour and texture variations in flooring are what separate the spaces. Unique ceilings designs in gypsum, veneer and laminate lend a sophisticated look to the interiors. Beautiful paintings of sceneries and natural settings adorn the walls in this house. Natural grass is grown in the drive and the landscape, which is then topped with natural stones to allow the rain water to seep into the earth. “We love plants and trees; so lots of greenery adorns our spacious garden and landscape. We are happy spending every moment in this beautiful abode that amazingly blends the elegance of tradition with modern facilities,” says the owner.
