This is the tale of an unbelievable transformation of an old house, built in Guruvayur, Kerala, in 1995, into a modern dwelling that exudes the elegance and charm of contemporary architecture. The entire structure wasn’t dismantled, but was given a makeover as the foundation and the walls of the house are still sturdy.
A spacious car porch has been added onto the modern elevation. This porch actually is the highlight of the exteriors. A sitting space and garden has been arranged above this porch. Besides, arrangements are made here to host small parties and gatherings as well. The stylish show wall, the glass roofing on the sit-out, the rustic Kadappa stones, brick claddings and the cement texture works enhances the spectacular look of the newly designed elevation.
The landscape has been aesthetically designed by retaining the neem tree and other plants that already stood on the plot. Three more steps have been added to get into the house. The old sit-out is extended to make it more spacious.
The hall in the old house has been made vaster. Meanwhile, the living and dining areas are rearranged in the open theme. The master bedroom and the utility space have been retained with a facelift. The family living area, the show kitchen, work area and the kid’s bedroom are newly added facilities to compliment the lifestyle of the family members.
Latest furnishing materials of great quality add magnificence to the interior spaces. The classy combination of teakwood and veneer and stylish spot lights make the interiors look extremely comfortable and attractive.
The stairway is in the dining hall. Meanwhile, the family living area has been arranged beneath the stairway to save space. The TV wall here acts as a partition as well. A curio shelf too has been installed on the partition. The handrails of the stairway feature the stylish combination of glass and wood.
The dining-cum-open kitchen is quite attractive. Meanwhile, the kitchen cabinets are in multi-wood with veneer finish. There is an entertainment room and a utility space on the upper floor.
The three bedrooms are bath-attached and have in built wardrobes. Beautiful wall papers and interesting ceiling patterns are the highlights of the bedrooms. Meanwhile, the side tables and the sitting spaces make the bedrooms extremely efficient.
Amazingly planned and smartly designed the transformed house is now a modern mansion with splendid facilities.
