The theme of the house follows a blend of traditional and contemporary styles.

Vineeth Thomas and his wife Priya built their brand new house at a plot that is closer to the former's ancestral home in Idakkunnam near Kanjirapally in Kottayam, Kerala. The plot is a few feet higher from the road level and one could enjoy the panoramic view of the nearby church and the beautiful mountain ranges from here.

The family wanted an elegant single storey house as they thought it would nourish the bond between the members. They approached noted engineer Sreekanth Pangapad who designed the perfect abode by catering to the likes and interests of the family.

A few months into the construction, the family faced the first setback in the form of floods in 2019. The construction got stalled when the quarries and other industries were shut down due to the calamity. Later, the family decided to resume the construction. However, it didn’t go as planned as the world got hit by the Covid 19 pandemic. The place where the workers stayed was declared a containment zone. The family, however, survived this crisis and slowly completed the construction of their dream dwelling.

Designed in 1700 sqft, this beautiful house has a car porch, sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with a work area, three bedrooms and a truss area. The theme of the house follows a blend of traditional and contemporary styles. The spacious sit out is the perfect spot to enjoy the spectacular view of the Vadakkemala mountain ranges.

The family recently celebrated the house warming ceremony by adhering to the Covid 19 protocols. Now, Vineeth and his family are relived and elated that things have finally fallen into place and that they got the house of their dreams.
