Noby and family wanted a single storey house to make maintenance easier and to ensure amazing communication with each other. Interestingly, this fabulously designed single storey mansion in Kothamangalam, Kerala, looks like a double storey house from the outside.
The elevation features the classic style of the Victorian architecture. The verdant lawns and the walkway paved with natural stones add to the mesmerizing view of the house. The MS truss roof is paved with mud tiles. Meanwhile, solar panels are installed on the sloped roof. The house is mostly run on electricity produced by these panels.
Designed in 4000 sqft, this beautiful mansion has a sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, courtyard, prayer area, kitchen with a work area and five bedrooms.
From the long and spacious sit out, one could enter the foyer. The unique design of the formal living area is quite interesting. The curved wall here grants a chic look to the living area. The ant installation on this cement textured wall is what draws instant attention. Meanwhile, the colorful couches add the perfect contrast here. The custom made furniture perfectly matches the general theme of the house.
Vaster spaces where there is abundant supply of natural air and light are the highlights of the interiors. The family living area, dining space, courtyard and the prayer area are arranged as part of the spacious hall.
The artificial courtyard that has a double height ceiling is just beside the family living area. A coffee table and a sitting space have been arranged here.
The kitchen is furnished by arranging lots of storage facilities. A part of the C shaped kitchen counter has been turned into a breakfast counter with sitting spaces on both sides. The cupboards, meanwhile, are done in synthetic PVC boards with PU paint finish.
Besides the master bedroom, there are two kids’ bedrooms, parents’ bedroom and a guest bedroom too. The bedrooms are designed as per the interests and needs of the family members. The bath attached bedrooms have in–built wardrobes too.
This spectacular dwelling becomes special as each area has been designed with proper planning. The majestic exteriors and the delightful interiors make this house stand out from other houses in the locality.
