No matter how big or small the house is, Keralites prefer decorating the elevation of their dream dwellings with unique design features and other attractive elements. However, Arshad’s brand new mansion at the countryside of Aripra in Malappuram district, Kerala, stands in stark contrast to this popular notion.
There is a lush green paddy field just beside the plot that adds oodles of charm and perfectly complements the overall look of the landscape and the structure. The house has been designed to receive the extremely refreshing and cool breeze that blows from the field. Besides, the spaces in this palatial abode are designed in such a way that it treats your eyes to the mesmerizing views of the fabulous nature.
So, the front side of the house doesn’t feature any over the top designs or other gimmicky additions. The structure was built by retaining most of the coconut trees that had stood in the plot. The backside of the house which faces the field has been designed with special features and eye catching designs. Here, the swimming pool adds to the charming look of the aesthetically done landscape.
The water in the swimming pool further cools the breeze and fills the interiors with a calm and comfortable ambience. A gazebo too has been built in the landscape to enjoy relaxed evenings watching the pristine beauty of the field.
The two layered roof is concrete with heat insulation on the top. Meanwhile, a sandwich panelling too has been done above it. This helps in preventing the harsh sunrays from directly hitting the roof, making the interiors cooler even during the noon time. The elevation has been designed by adding features that ensure heavy ventilation. The upper storey is lined with multiple louvres. So, the designer calls it a slit house which invites ample sun shine and fresh air into the house.
Sprawled in 7000 sqft, this mega mansion has a spacious car porch, sit out, formal and family living areas, dining area, and kitchen with an adjacent work area, five bedrooms, prayer space, study area and utility space. The picturesque countryside and the beautiful views from the field could be enjoyed from the common areas. Interestingly, most of the doors are at least 3 meters high.
This makes one feel that they are entering a vaster and open space through these huge entrances. The natural sunshine and the cool air create a magical feeling that is almost surreal. There is no need to switch on the lights during the day as the spaces are well lit with natural light. As the ceiling has heat insulation, the interiors are cooler and fans or other electronic devices need not be used even during the noon time. The family says this helps them save a significant amount of money in electricity bills.
Classy imported tiles have been paved on the floor in this luxury mansion. Most of the furniture pieces including couches, dining table and cots too are imported. The formal living area is designed in the detached style and one cannot easily catch a glimpse of the rest of the interiors from here. Meanwhile, you could surely enjoy the amazing courtyard and the fabulous scenery of the fields from the living area. A wall here has been highlighted with rustic tiles.
The courtyard that is elegantly decorated with exotic indoor plants is the focal point of the interiors. Interestingly, one could easily catch a view of this courtyard from most of the areas in the house. The stairway, meanwhile, is in the floating style which is chic and modern. The slick combination of wood and toughened glass on the hand railings makes the perfect addition.
The bedrooms are extremely spacious. Most of the windows in the bedrooms open to the fabulous sceneries of the field. Besides attached bathrooms, the bedrooms have in – built wardrobes for storage and separate dressing spaces too.
The kitchen cupboards are done using imported laminate. The counter top, meanwhile, has been paved with quartz. A quaint breakfast table and an adjacent work area complete the kitchen space.
Only the gate and the drive way are visible from outside. So, the guests who are arriving for the first time would hardly have any idea about how grand the house is. However, they are sure to get stunned by the majestic beauty of the landscape and the impeccable luxuries of the house once they enter this mesmerizing mansion. They family too is joyous and proud that their dream dwelling has now become a major landmark in the locality.
