There is a small concrete fence, which projects the spectacular look of the exteriors.

Noted ad filmmaker Jithesh’s brand new house at Payyannur in Kannur district, Kerala, is a smartly designed modern abode that effectively overcomes the spatial challenges posed by a 7.3 cents plot. The family had desired to build a beautiful house with spacious interiors and modern amenities in this smaller plot.

Usually the trend in Kerala is to build huge boundary walls that completely conceal the house from the outside view. However, here, a small concrete fence has been built, which in fact, projects the spectacular look of the exteriors. Though the house stands on a smaller plot, lots of indoor and outdoor plants have been included as part of its stunning design to add oodles of charm. The chic vertical garden in the car porch is truly eye catching.

The elevation features the contemporary box style. Meanwhile, the laterite stone cladding on the outer walls brings the perfect contrast here.

There is a quaint lawn just beside the sit out. Paved with artificial grass, this enchanting space has a designer wall that has been highlighted with natural stones.

A car porch, sit out, living and dining areas, office room, three bedrooms , kitchen and work area, balcony and an open terrace have been smartly arranged in this house that has an area of 2250 sqft. The main door opens to a double height foyer which then leads to the spacious and open living – dining hall. Custom made furniture pieces that perfectly match the interior theme are what adorn this area. A wall here is highlighted with texture paint and has been separated into an elegant prayer space.

The unique design of the stairway is quite interesting. The stairway, done in the floating style, also acts a semi partition that separates the living and the dining areas. Artificial grass has been paved beneath the stair area to add more color and texture to the furnishings. The skylight on the double height ceiling above the stair area brings lots of sun shine into the house.

The dining area, meanwhile, is highlighted by a wall decorated with attractive wall paper. The dining table is simple and gels well with the general theme of the house.

The kitchen furnished in the classic black and white theme boasts of all the modern facilities. The cupboards are done in marine plywood finish. The counter top, meanwhile, has been paved with granite.

The bedrooms are extremely cozy and have all the amenities including attached bathrooms, in – built wardrobes for storage and separate dressing areas too. Interestingly, space has been reserved in the upper storey to build an additional bedroom, if required, in the future. Currently, this area has been turned into a beautiful terrace garden.

The fabulous abode, though built on a smaller plot, stands out for elegant and functional designs and charming ambience too.
