Everyone would be curious when an architect who designs homes for others builds his own dream abode. Designer Shyju’s brand new house at Pallom in Kottayam, Kerala, offers a feast to the eyes with its unique features and fabulous amenities.

The beautiful house that dons the serene shade of white stands on 6.25 cents. But the touch of the designer’s signature style is visible from the gate itself. The unique elevation that is designed in the triangular shape makes the exteriors extremely attractive, despite the spatial challenges of a smaller plot. Beautiful CNC designer works on the main and the wicket gates is a head turner. The intricate design of a tree with spreading foliage on the main gate is simply breathtaking. Meanwhile, the image of Lord Krishna and his muse Radha is spectacularly carved on the wicket gate.

The house named Gourinandanam is designed in an area of 2600 sqft and has a car porch, sit out, living and dining areas, kitchen with work area, four bedrooms, home theater, balcony and an open terrace.

The interiors are arranged in the semi open style. The two meter high windows bring natural sunshine and fresh air abundantly into the house.

The designer has experimented with different kinds of building materials to make this spectacular abode stand out. The house is furnished using moderately priced materials without compromising on the quality or looks of the house. The chic flooring looks as if regal Italian marble has been used. However, tiles that have marble finish are paved on the floor giving the interiors a graceful look.

One of the bedrooms is designed in the traditional style. The laterite stone textured walls exude a splendid old world charm. These claddings have an amazing natural finish and hardly look like textures. The wooden emack ceiling and the old style hanging cot add to the ethnic charm of this room. The designer element that looks like wooden paneling on the walls is actually extended wooden finished tiles. The ceiling too is done in gypsum that has wooden finish.

The bedrooms have lots full length wardrobes for storage. The bath attached bedrooms are extremely cozy and have all the required amenities.

The island kitchen is very functional and is equipped with all the modern facilities. The cabinets are done in plywood with glossy laminate finish. The counter top, meanwhile, has been paved with nano white.

The doors in the house boast of the regal elegance of teak wood. The hand railings too feature the classy combination of teak wood and glass. The windows, meanwhile, are done in UPVC. The gypsum ceiling and the colorful LED light fittings add a delightful ambience to the interiors. The spectacular home theater in the house is equipped with the dolby sound technology.

The open balcony in the front is decorated with a water fountain and a serene Buddha statue. Meanwhile, a side of the well is fixed with a net wall where a beautiful vertical garden is grown. The construction of this fabulous abode, including the structure and furnishing, was completed on a budget of Rs 70 lakh.
