Aluva house
The elevation features chic, flat and box-style features to make it functional in a smaller plot.

Uthaman’s brand new house at Muppathadam in Aluva, Kerala is a spectacular structure that smartly overcomes the spatial limitations of a 5 cents plot. The most amazing fact about this modern abode is that it was completed on a pocket-friendly budget that was already decided by the family.

The elevation features chic, flat and box-style features to make it functional in a smaller plot. The exteriors don a pleasant blue shade that ‘cools’ the eyes. The GI louvers on the sit-out, meanwhile, acts as an interesting design feature. The compound wall too has been designed in the blue colour theme to match exteriors of the house. The sliding GI gate saves space and looks classy too.

Designed in 1650 sqft, this amazing abode has a car porch, sit out, living and dining areas, courtyard, kitchen with a work area and two bedrooms in the ground floor. Meanwhile, the upper floor has a balcony, two more bedrooms and an open terrace.

The custom made furniture gels well with the general theme of the house. The use of timber has been limited to keep a check on the expenses. Exquisite teak wood has been used only for the entrance door. Malaysian teak wood that is relatively cheaper is used to make the rest of the doors in the house. The interiors have been decked up with attractive wallpapers and beautiful claddings. Meanwhile, vitrified tiles are paved on the floor in this house.

The interior walls don the serene charm of the white hue. The formal living area has a TV unit too. The purple ceiling is an interesting feature here.

Meanwhile, the wall beside the stairway is highlighted using blue coloured wallpaper. The wash area has been arranged beneath the stairway in an attempt to make the interiors space-efficient. Interestingly, a concealed storage too has been arranged here.

The six seater dining table is simple and doesn’t take up too much space. The blue and red-tiled ceiling grants a unique charm to this area. Meanwhile, the wall that is decorated with warm coloured wallpaper amazingly separates the dining area. An adjacent crockery shelf completes the simple yet elegant dining space.

The bedrooms are minimal and elegant. The bath attached bedrooms have wardrobes for storage. The head sidewalls that are highlighted with delightful shades grant a graceful ambience to the bedrooms.

The kitchen is furnished in the classic colour combination of red, white and blue. The cupboards done in marine plywood with the glossy laminate finish look trendy. The counter top has been paved with black granite.

The construction of this remarkable dwelling, including the structure and furnishing, was completed on a moderate budget of Rs 35 lakh. This cost-effective house has now become a landmark in the area that attracts instant attention.
