The tiny patch of greenery is embedded with creative features is enriched by large fish ponds, vegetable gardens, and a long line-up of terracotta pots sporting a wide variety of flowers and leafy plants. This explain why there is every likelihood to miss the big tiled house designed in traditional style at the centre of the 35 cents of land. A host of pet animals and ornamental birds too add life and colour to the wilderness. A significant aspect is that every inch of the green paradise has been intelligently crafted for an eco-friendly habitat.

Kudos to Vidya and his family for single-handedly recreating the green magic. Vidya who runs a family business 'Sarang Sports' in Mavelikkara town has found time out of his busy schedule to dig into his gardening adventure right from the scratch. The family too joined to ease into every bit of gardening, only to discover the rejuvenating experience in the whole process. This could be the reason why they have not roped in labourers to assist them in the ambitious venture.

Caressing the foliage and pets has become more or less a family affair. Vidya supervises the vegetable farming and lawn, while his spouse Beena takes care of the flowers. Their children Akku and Anku look after the pets and ornamental birds.

With their out-of-the-box thinking, the family has shown that waste items can be a real asset in the garden. From old chairs to tyres to ceiling fan all have been assigned a new role to play in 'Sarang'.

In a nutshell, this Garden of Eden scripts a tale of self-sustenance. The organic kitchen garden offers a basketful of vegetables for your daily spread. It gives a good yield of tomatoes, bitter gourd, snake gourd, and even the exotic cabbage and cauliflower. Vidya's family gets a fairly good catch from the fish pond, not to leave the ducks, hens and quails raised in the backyard that deliver farm fresh eggs,

An amazing wild habitat has been recreated in the courtyard to give an overwhelming experience for the ornamental birds. Apart from the avians, bugs and butterflies would be grateful to the artificial rain, waterfall, small water bath, trees to perch inside the 'bird sanctuary'.

Vidya and his family believe it is a refreshing experience to start off a day caressing the flora and fauna around them. They strongly feel the greenery pumps in the energy to stay happy and contented throughout the day. During weekends, 'Sarang' plays host to a number of visitors who wish to have a rendezvous with nature and experience how man lives in harmony with nature in its purest sense.
