Naseem Bhanu’s brand new house at the beautiful countryside of Marancherry in Malappuram district in Kerala stands amid the serene grace of nature. There is a lush green paddy field on the north - west side of the plot. The house has been designed to receive the cool and refreshing breeze that flows from the field. Two courtyards, both inside and outside the house could be rightly termed as the ‘lungs’ as it helps the house breathe.
The structure follows a simple and plain style, without any over top design or furnishing gimmicks. The terracotta jalis on the outer walls and the compound walls add the perfect contrast against the lighter shade of hue. There is a small courtyard closer to the sit out where trees that are not so tall are grown. Meanwhile, the beautiful courtyard with the double height ceiling is what draws instant attention as soon as the entrance door is opened. Interestingly, this courtyard acts as an area that connects both the floors. Moreover, the interior spaces are arranged around the courtyard which makes it the focal point in the house.
Designed in 2000 sqft, this fabulous abode has a sit-out, living and dining areas, courtyard, kitchen and two bedrooms in the ground floor. Meanwhile, there is an upper living area, one more bedroom and a balcony in the upper floor.
The living-dining areas are designed in double-height which makes this area look incredibly vaster. Classy readymade furniture that matches the general theme of the house adorns the living space.
The beautiful indoor plant in the courtyard adds a hint of pleasant greenery to the interiors. Meanwhile, the golden sunshine that enters through the toughened glass pergola ceiling here illuminates the interiors with natural light. The intensity of the light that comes in at different times of the day creates unique moods and ambience inside the house.
The stairway designed in the cantilever style is compact and chic. The hand railings, meanwhile, are done in stainless steel. The stairway leads to an open hall which is spacious. The spaces here are accessible through bridge-like corridors.
The U-shaped open kitchen has been furnished in the classic color combination of white and grey. The cabinets are made in multi wood. The countertop, meanwhile, has been paved with granite.
The bedrooms are simple yet elegant. The bath attached bedrooms have wardrobes and separate study areas too.
