This Kumbalangi house reflects the incredible charm of nature

The elegance of minimalism is the highlight of the interiors.

The beautiful countryside of Kumbalangi, with its pristine lakes, dense mangroves and rows of Chinese fishing nets, beckons nature lovers. Dinesh, a bank manager, had purchased 8 cents land here as he and his family too had fallen for the incredible natural beauty of Kumbalangi. The owner had clear ideas about the requirements even before the plan of the house was drawn.

The family insisted that the house should easily receive the cool breeze that flows from the lake. They also wanted to enjoy the splendid views of nature from the comforts of their house. Besides, they needed the facilities that are just enough for a four member family to live comfortably. The architect deserves credit for designing such a remarkable dwelling by catering to the likes and interests of the family members.

The exteriors aren’t decorated with gimmicky design features and the house stands in a silent area that isn’t too busy. Meanwhile, the interiors are designed to receive natural light and air abundantly. This indeed fills the interiors with positive vibes that inspire the family members too.

Designed in 1850 sqft, this amazing abode has a car porch, sit-out, living and dining areas, courtyard, kitchen with a work area and a bath attached bedroom in the ground floor. Meanwhile, there are two more bath attached bedrooms, upper living area and an open terrace in the upper floor.

The elegance of minimalism is the highlight of the interiors. The spaces are designed in the open theme without any partitions. The living and the dining areas, stairway and the kitchen are all part of the spacious hall. This ensures incredible space efficiency and the areas look and feel vaster too.

One could easily grab the view of the charming green courtyard as soon as the entrance door is opened. The spectacular painting of a tree that is placed in the centre instantly catches attention. Meanwhile, bamboos and other indoor plants grant great ambience to this area. Rustic finish tiles have been paved on the floor in the sit out. Moreover, the brick cladding on the wall here is attractive.

There is very few furniture inside the house, making the spaces open and vast. A small couch is all that is in the formal living area. A simple glass top dining table and two benches are arranged in the dining area. Meanwhile, the hanging cot near the stairway is a nice addition. Interestingly, the space beneath the stairway could be used as a study area too. Tiles that have natural stone finish have been used for flooring here.

The pooja space is designed in the concealed style to efficiently manage space. The hand railings of the stairway feature the classic combination of metal and wood. The first landing area is highlighted with exposed brick cladding that exudes rustic charm.

Both the bedrooms in the upper floor have balconies that open to the mesmerizing views of the nature outside. From these balconies, one could enjoy the cool wind, the lush greenery and the bewitching beauty of the lakes in Kumabalangi.

The family says that their amazing dwelling is the best place to unwind and relax after a busy day at work. This house has been rightly named ‘Thanal’ which means shade or shelter. Dinesh and his family are happy that they could spend fabulous moments together in the safety and comfort of their brand new house.
