Sreeraj and family who are settled abroad had purchased 10 cents of land near Koorali at Kottayam, three years ago, to build their dream abode. The owner entrusted architect Sreekanth Babu who is based in Ponkunnam to design a beautiful and comfortable single-storey house that has all the modern amenities.
Three bath attached bedrooms, formal living area, dining space, kitchen with a work area, storeroom, sit out and a car porch have been designed in this fabulous house that has an area of 1550 sqft.
Even though the construction had begun in 2019, it got stalled due to the pandemic that gripped the world in 2020. The construction was therefore completed in two stages during the lockdown periods. The owner could reach here only this year when the flight operations got resumed. Finally, the house warming ritual was celebrated during the Malayalam month of Chingam and the family moved into their brand new house.
As the construction materials were purchased before the costs spiralled, the budget didn’t overshoot. A stairway too has been built in case the family wishes to build an additional floor in the future.
This splendid abode is the perfect example of a simple yet elegant house built on a 10 cents plot. Excellent designing that highlights efficient space management is what makes this house stand out.
Sreeraj says that he feels proud when his friends and relatives shower him with praises for building such a space-efficient and budget-friendly house.
