Joshi and his family wanted their dream abode at their hometown in Perambra, Kozhikode to be simple yet elegant. The structure has been built, in a 22 cents plot, by leaving enough space for a vaster front yard. Meanwhile, the yard is paved with natural stones and grass in alternate layers.
The family made sure to retain the coconut palms and other shading trees that had stood on the plot.
The roof designed in multiple levels has been paved with attractive shingles.
The high-pressure laminate boards that are pasted on the walls add an elegant contrast to the elevation. Moreover, it has a wooden finished look too. HPL boards are used as decorative features on the compound walls as an extension of the designs on the elevation.
The grand elevation, spacious front yard and aesthetically designed landscape grant the house a luxurious look. However, the interiors of this house stand out for its minimal yet classy furnishing.
Designed in 2700 sqft, this amazing abode has a car porch, sit out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with a work area, four bedrooms, upper living area and a balcony.
There are two sit-outs in the front. The entrance door in the main sit-out opens to the formal living area. Meanwhile, the sit-out beside the car porch leads to the dining area.
The beautiful furnishing in the interiors dons a balanced arrangement of multi wood, plywood and veneer. Interestingly, this grants an opulent look to the spaces.
The family, however, hasn’t spent too much money for furnishing. Matte-finished tiles are paved on the floor. Meanwhile, granite is used for flooring in the sit out. The custom-made furniture complements the general theme of the house.
A leather finished couch and attractive wall papers are what adorn the formal living area. Meanwhile, a show shelf separates the formal living area and the dining space.
Stairway, family living area and dining space are arranged as part of the spacious hall. This open area makes the centre of the house look and feel vaster.
The wall beside the stairway is highlighted with paneling and has been turned into a prayer area.
The dining area with the double-height ceiling connects both floors. The dining table meanwhile is built with MS frame with a glass tabletop. The custom-made chairs perfectly complement the elegant dining table.
Solid wooden planks have been used as steps on the stairway that has a solid metal structure.
The wash area is arranged beneath the stairway to save space. The stairway leads to the upper living area. A velvet couch and a TV unit have been arranged here.
The bedrooms are space-efficient and boast of all the modern facilities. The bath attached bedrooms have side tables and in–built wardrobes for storage.
The head sideboards are decorated with attractive wallpapers.
The modern kitchen furnished in the white and pastel green colour theme looks classy. The cabinets, meanwhile, are done in plywood with laminate finish. The countertop has been paved with granite.
The beautiful design features and chic facilities make the house look like a luxury abode.
The family’s friends and relatives think that an exorbitant amount has been spent to build such a fabulous house. However, the truth is that this amazing house has been built on a pocket-friendly budget.
