This dual faced Manjeri house is contemporary, chic and comfortable

The owners of this beautiful house in Manjeri are thrilled to share their experiences of building their dream abode. “I am an expatriate. I built this house on the 10 cents plot that I had purchased near my ancestral home. There are lots of houses in the neighbourhood. So, I wanted the elevation of my house to stand out. Besides, the interiors should be vaster and filled with natural light. It was I who oversaw the construction even though I was in Gulf at that time. We relied mostly on WhattsApp calls for communication,” says owner Sawab.

The double layered shingle paved roofs grant a regal charm to the elevation. One of the roofs has been designed in triple height to make the interiors incredibly vaster. The gable roof has been additionally added as a fun element. The elegant colour combination of white and grey dons the exteriors. Interestingly, the elevation features unique looks on two sides.

Designed in 2547 sqft, this amazing abode, has living and dining areas, four bedrooms and kitchen with work area. The interiors are designed in the open theme. This makes the spaces look vaster and roomy. Vitrified tiles have been used for flooring. Meanwhile, the custom-made furniture enhances the overall look of the house.

The staircase is compact and doesn’t take up too much space. The CCTV monitor is installed beneath the stairway, making use of the free space. The hand railings, meanwhile, feature the classic combination of wood and glass. Instead of granite, tiles are paved on the steps of the stairway.

The dining table that can easily accommodate up to eight guests stands out for its graceful white shade. A pantry counter connects the dining area with the kitchen. The wall here has been highlighted with an attractive grey coloured wall paper.

Two bedrooms each have been arranged in both the floors. The bedrooms have full sized wardrobes and attached bathrooms too.

Lots of spot lights have been arranged on the elevation and on the compound wall. The house shines against the twilight sky when these lights are switched on at night.

The Covid 19 outbreak and the lockdown had delayed the construction a bit. Besides, the prices of the construction materials too had shot up when the works were resumed. However, the family is joyous that they have moved into their new house by overcoming all the challenges.
