A ‘musical’ house that impresses everyone with its outstanding features

the musical house
The house is surrounded by a garden that is filled with multiple varieties of trees and plants.

Binu who runs the Mozart School of Music at Kanjirappally and his wife Mini who is also a singer had a handful of dreams about their brand new house. The old house that stood on the raised plot was demolished before constructing the new house. The soil was removed to level the spot where the new structure stands. Besides, the family wanted to reserve some space to construct a music studio in the future.

It was designer Sreekant Pangapattu who suggested that a truss roof could be installed above the single-storey house so that they could easily build a studio in the future. The family too liked this idea as they wanted a cozy house with all the facilities.

This beautiful house, designed in 1800 sqft, has formal and family living areas, dining cum family living area, kitchen with an adjacent work area and four bath attached bedrooms. The long verandah near the sit-out is an interesting feature that adds a classy elegance to the structure.

The area where the musical instruments are kept and where the family conducts practice sessions is the most attractive spot in the interiors. The roof pergola ensures that this space is lit with natural sunshine. It is incredible how the architect has beautifully incorporated the family’s interests into the house.

The house is surrounded by a garden that is filled with multiple varieties of trees and plants. Besides music, catering to these plants too is the family’s favourite pastime.

Binu and his family hopes that he could construct a music studio and an adjacent class room at the truss area above the flat roof.

This is a perfect abode, with all the required amenities, that suits a modern family.
