Isac Joseph and family had, a few years ago, purchased a plot of land in his hometown Kanjirappally, Kerala to build their dream abode. The family had a clear idea about the structure and design of the house as they had done excellent homework. They even jotted down their needs and wishes on paper before meeting design engineer Sreekanth Pangapattu. The spot for constructing the house in the 18.50 cents land had already been determined and a well too was built on the northeast side.
The first stage of the planning was done by including spaces and amenities that the family required. So, the house includes amazing facilities that suit the modern lifestyle of the family members.
The colourful sloped roof in multiple layers adds a traditional charm to the elevation of the house. GI truss has been installed over the flat roof to achieve this amazing look. This feature ensures a spacious utility area here. Besides, this acts as a vacuum space that reduces the heat inside the house.
As the road runs in the southern side, the main door and the entrance area face the east. This makes the structure don unique looks on both the sides. Interestingly, the long ‘L’ shaped veranda covers the south and east sides of the house. Moreover, the main entrance door is installed here, facing the east.
Designed in 2700 sqft, this fabulous abode has a sit-out, living and dining areas, a kitchen with a work area, and four bedrooms with attached bathrooms.
The elegantly designed prayer area is what grabs your attention as soon as the entrance door opens. This area, which is naturally lit, exudes positive vibes. The formal living area is arranged on the left side. Meanwhile, a wooden partition is what separates the family living cum dining area on the right. This cosy space that ensures privacy has a TV unit installed on the wall.
The open kitchen with a quaint breakfast counter is close to the dining area. Moreover, there is a spacious working kitchen, a utility staircase that leads to the terrace area and a storage space beside the kitchen area.
The bedrooms are spacious and ensure privacy. Meanwhile, the simple interiors never fail to charm the hearts of the guests. The family says that their relatives and friends often visit the house to enjoy the warmth and positivity of their brand-new house, even after the housewarming ritual.
Single-storey houses, with spacious interiors, are best to ensure amazing familial relationships and communication in this modern age. Moreover, these houses are easy to maintain too. The family feels proud when their guests say that they too wish to build a house that looks and feels just like this.
