Building a low-cost house on a really small plot is nothing short of a challenge in this modern era where construction costs are spiralling exponentially each day. The owner of this smartly built abode in Nettoor in Ernakulam, Kerala is proud that he has fulfilled his dream without pushing himself into the abyss of unbearable debt. The 750 sqft house stands elegantly in a 3-cent rectangular plot. The elevation features the flat–box style and the rooms are designed uniquely to suit the layout of the small plot.
The beautiful house has a sit-out, living area, dining room, open kitchen, two bedrooms, one attached bathroom, a common bathroom, and a wash area.
The colour palette that adorns the outer walls is spectacular. The fabulous combination of pistachio green and white is soothing to the eyes. The in–built sitting area in the sit-out is a smart addition. Meanwhile, the entrance door built using timber of wild jack opens to the spacious hall. Interestingly, the living and the dining areas and the kitchen are all designed as part of this hall.
A compact couch set, TV unit, and a prayer area are arranged in the living area. Meanwhile, the small dining table ensures space efficiency.
Aluminium fabrication has been used to furnish the kitchen in order to reduce expenses. Besides, lots of storage spaces are arranged here.
In the master bedroom of 14x8 size, there is a storage berth and two wardrobes besides the cot. Moreover, an attached bathroom too is built as part of this bedroom. Meanwhile, the wash area and the common bathroom are close to the other bedroom which is designed in 12x8.
The construction of this amazing house was completed on an extremely affordable budget of Rs 12 lakh. The structure cost Rs 7 lakh while Rs 5 lakh was spent for the furnishing works.
