Bloating is a condition in which the digestive tract, including the stomach and intestines, fills with air. Abdominal pressure, pain, excessive gas, burping, and rumblings in the stomach are all symptoms of bloating. The discomfort this causes is not a minor one. Bloating can be caused by overeating, eating food containing too much fat, and consuming food too quickly. Prominent nutritionist Lovneet Batra shared some ways to avoid bloating, through her Instagram post a while ago.

Drink water half an hour before and one hour after meals
Water plays a prominent role in the digestive process. It helps break down food. However, you should also drink water at the right time. Drinking too much water with food dilutes the digestive juices, affecting the process of breaking down food. Therefore, one should drink water only half an hour before and one hour after eating.

Chew your food well
Instead of eating food in a hurry, chewing food slowly can make you feel full, helping to avoid overeating. If the food is chewed well, the amylase mixes with the food through saliva, starting the digestion process even before it reaches the stomach.

Consume cooked food
Vegetables can be challenging to digest if eaten raw. The fibre in them also takes a long time to digest. Therefore, eating cooked vegetables helps avoid bloating. Vegetables can also be steamed and eaten.

Walk after eating
Many people try to sleep after eating a full meal. You will feel sleepy too when your stomach is full. However, doing so slows down the digestion process. Instead, walking for half an hour increases energy and aids in better digestion. This practice is also good for avoiding bloating and other digestive problems.
