US-based diabetes specialist Dr Sanam Lathief honoured for excellence in endocrinology

Seasoned endocrinologist and well-known diabetes specialist Dr Sanam Lathief has been included in the Marquis Who's Who, which chronicles the most accomplished individuals and innovators in the US.
Affiliated with Mount Auburn Hospital in Massachusetts, she treats patients with endocrinology-related issues, including uncontrolled diabetes and thyroid or adrenal problems. Apart from being a successful physician, she teaches medical students at the Harvard Medical School.

Sanam is a frequent lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and participates in the Harvard/MIT combined programme. She did her MBBS from Kasturba Medical College of Manipal, Mangaluru, before completing a residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, New Hampshire.

Dr Lathief has earned first prize from the American College of Physicians and certificates of recognition from the Warren Alpert Medical School. She was elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) in 2020, and in January, she was honoured with the distinction of Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (FACE).
