The Jammu and Kashmir Private Hospitals and Dialysis Centres Association (JKHDCA) has announced free treatment for tourists who were affected by the Pahalgam terror attack that happened on April 22. The association stated that hospitals affiliated with it will provide comprehensive medical care, surgery, emergency services, and all necessary treatments to the survivors at no cost. All that they have to do is walk into any private hospital in the region and request help. Sandeep Mengi of JKHDCA, who heads the Maharshi Dayanand Hospital, J&K, said that the tourists need not follow any set procedures for the same, and that the association want to make it as simple as possible for them.

Meanwhile, Mir Faizan, President of the association, also said that the day will be commemorated from next year as a tribute to the souls who lost their lives in the incident. The organisation will also hold free medical camps across all hospitals on the day, from next year. The Jammu and Kashmir government has also announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh for the families of each deceased and Rs 2 lakh for those seriously injured. J&K Health Minister Sakina Itoo also visited the GMC Anantnag Hospital to inquire about the health status of the affected parties.
