Rajinikanth's multi-starrer Lokesh Kanakaraj film 'Coolie' is to hit theatres on August 14. During one of its promotional events, the superstar spoke at length about his co-star Nagarjuna, with whom he has only collaborated in one film before Coolie. Rajinikanth said, "I teamed up with Nagarjuna around 34 years ago for the Tamil film 'Nattukku Oru Nallavan' ('Shanti Kranti' in Telugu). After that, I hadn't seen him much, as he rarely goes out and doesn't talk much either. However, when I met him for 'Coolie,' he looked even younger!" The 'Style Mannan,' who addresses his Telugu counterpart as 'King Nagarjuna,' said that the Tollywood star's skin glows, his complexion has improved, his body is in perfect shape, and even his hair has grown thicker. Apparently, Rajinikanth couldn't resist but probe Nagarjuna about the secret of the same.

Nagarjuna's fitness mantra
Rajinikanth explained in detail the reasons Nagarjuna gave for his fitness. The first, he said, is consistency in working out. "Nagarjuna said that he has been exercising consistently for the past 40 to 45 years. He is also into swimming," said Rajinikanth. As for Nagarjuna's dietary habits, he finishes his dinner by 6.30 pm, at the most, and doesn't eat anything post that. "Apparently, it's about figuring out what is not working for you," Thalaivar explained. And most importantly, Nagarjuna also credited something his dad passed over to him. And no, it's not just Annapoorna Studios. "It's the genes," Rajinikanth quoted Nagarjuna.

For those Rajinikanth fans looking for some fitness inspiration, the superstar wrapped up the segment delivering a classy wellness punchline. He said, "If you don't punish your body, it will punish you." He went on to say that our organs, such as the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, intestines, and cells, request that we exercise a bit, run for a while, so that they can function better, and we don't.

Benefits of regular exercise
Nagarjuna rightly credited regular exercise for his ageless physique and fitness. According to the Mayo Clinic, there are seven benefits of regular physical activity, which are:
1) Prevention of weight gain. However, for this to be effective, one has to remain active throughout the day. This can even be done by taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
2) It boosts the good, high-density lipoprotein or HDL cholesterol. It can prevent many health problems like high blood pressure, stroke, anxiety, cancers, arthritis and more.

3) It gives you an emotional lift and makes you feel good about your appearance.
4) It boosts endurance, improves muscle strength and sends the proper nutrients to your tissues to help your cardiovascular system function properly.
5) It can help you sleep better. However, avoid exercising close to bedtime.

6) It can boost your sex life and avoid issues like erectile dysfunction.
7) When you do it with family or friends, physical activities help you bond better.
At the same time, speak to a fitness expert or doctor before starting new workout regimes if you haven't exercised for a long time. This can help avoid many health issues like arthritis, cardiac problems and diabetes.
