Thought for the day: Unlock doors which shut you out
To behold those enchanting sights of life, one must unlock the doors that they have bolted from inside.

At a time when the world was witnessing the deadly persecution of the Jews, a teacher got imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp. Unaware about his family’s whereabouts, the teacher soon fell into a state of despair. If not being able to live freely, then one definitely has the right to embrace death, decided the teacher. He found a sharp blade and made up his mind to cut open his veins to commit suicide. However, there wasn’t enough light inside his dingy prison cell.

With great difficulty, he pushed open the small window on top of the wall. When he looked outside through that window, he saw that the area which was covered in snow the previous day has been filled with beautiful, sweet smelling flowers. Awestruck by the beauty of the sight, he threw away the blade that he was holding through the window. He then took out his dairy and wrote, “This is the day of my resurrection.”

The law of the nature states that the seasons change, and that no phenomenon lasts forever. Similarly, life too may offer happiness, sadness and dejection which surely will not sustain for long. It would keep changing, and the sad experiences in life may feel like an unpleasant chapter which would end soon. Sometimes things may disappear forever leaving absolutely no chance at all even to be retold in some way. Meanwhile, it may also have unwittingly sowed the seeds of recovery or redemption within us.

It is the uncontrollable emotions and unwanted perceptions that thrive within us which stifle the positive attitudes. No one can remain unfailing, but recovering from failure and regaining confidence is the true essence of life.

The falling of leaves is not a sign of destruction, but an indication of resurrection or rebirth. Even the sensitive leaves of the mimosa pudica (shy plant) have the capability to regain its strength. No matter how many times its leaves go flaccid and get folded up by coming into outside contacts, they would regain their turgidity after some time and resume their former shapes.

Doors would definitely open to those who are not ready to give up in life. Not just unfortunate accidents, but miracles too can happen unexpectedly in life. To behold those enchanting sights, one must unlock the doors that they have bolted from inside.
