In a gesture of solidarity with the Indian soldier V V Vasanth Kumar, who was killed in the Pulwama terror attack, Malayalam film star Mammootty visited the braveheart's house at Thrikkaippatta in Wayanad district.

The actor made a brief visit escaping media glare and star glitz. But a video, which was shot by one of the family members and posted on social media, has gone viral.

Sharing the grief of the bereaved family, Mammootty condoled the kin and spent some time there.

He later paid floral tribute to the slain soldier at his grave in the family burial ground a kilometer away from the residence.

Mammootty was accompanied by actor Abu Salim, DySP (Special Branch, Wayanad) Bijo Alexander and production controller Badusha.

At least 40 CRPF personnel were killed and several injured in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir when a Jaish-eMohammed suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district on February 14.
