It's an age many consider a blessing if able to move about without support. But for Katrina, a native of Poonkunnam in Thrissur, it's just a number. The 90-year-old is busy carrying out labour works at various building construction sites.
The old woman sets off for the job very early in the morning. She mainly makes concrete mix for construction. She moves about freely at worksites and has no difficulty in tasks like fixing nails or working at dizzying heights.
Katrina had begun working about 53 years ago to bring up her children. Now her eldest son is 60. Though her children persuade her to sit at home, Katrina doesn't agree.
She complains of fatigue when there no work. So her children let their mom follow her will. Katrina's wish is to work until her death.
The grand old woman is healthier than her children and has no ailments.
