Actress, dancer, and meme-maker Soubhagya Venkitesh has taken to social media to share her pre-wedding photo shoot with fiancé Arjun Somasekhar. Soubhagya, known for her quirky and witty memes on social media, is the daughter of danseuse Thara Kalyan her late husband, Rajaram. Soubhagya’s maternal grandmother Subbalakshmi is also a favourite face of Malayalam cinema and has portrayed several roles in films across genres.

Of late, Soubhagya’s Dubsmash and TikTok videos had earned her social media fame. She fell in love with TikTok compatriot Arjun two years ago. She indicated and imminent wedding by posting a photo together with the famed Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple in the backdrop.

“A place which gives me happiness. This is where it all started… One doesn’t know what God has planned out for you. But have faith, it will be the best for you,” she captioned the picture with an invocation to Lord Sri Padmanabha. After this photo was shared, news spread that the wedding was in the offing.

Very soon, Soubhagya announced on Instagram that their betrothal had taken place. Soubhagya wrote in her post though: “What I desired, my mother granted.”

One of the photos feature Thara Kalyan too and the trio seem to be on a roll.

Thara Kalyan is an accomplished dancer and has to her credit many recitals across forms like Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattom, and Kuchipudi. She is among the first to have incorporated the themes of Malayalam verse in her dance recitals – the ONV’s Amma and Kumaranasan’s Karuna.

She had acted in mainstream and art films and was a prominent television artiste too. Tragedy struck the family when her husband, Rajaram, also an actor and anchor, died on July 30, 2017 after a brief illness.

Thara Kalyan runs a dance school in Thiruvanathapuram and she was adjudged Miss Trivandrum in 1983.
