The unique wedding photoshoot of a couple in Venjaramoodu has taken the social media by storm. The ‘groom’ has surprised the ‘bride’ with this special gift, 8 years after their wedding. V Anish and Dr. YS Rajitha renewed their vows, with their 7 seven-year-old daughter Ammu as the witness.
The couple had tied the knot on 29 December 2014. Anish was working in a private firm while Rajitha was an MCom student. They were in love and wished to get married. As they didn’t want to get married against the wishes of their parents, Anish’s relatives met Rajitha’s parents to ask her hand in marriage. However, Rajitha’s family was against this union. But, they asked Anish’s relatives to take Rajitha home without any wedding rituals.
The next day, Anish’s mother and sister took Rajitha home. In the evening, Anish and Rajitha married at an auditorium in Keezhayikonam in the presence of the groom’s friends and relatives.
That was the beginning of their struggle to succeed in life. From his meagre income, he supported Rajitha’s higher studies. She earned a PhD in Commerce and had worked as a guest lecturer in a private college in Kilimanoor.
Anish noticed that his wife’s face would droop with sadness whenever they took part in weddings. He knew that she would get upset watching all the colorful events and happiness of such gatherings. Even though they hadn’t eloped and had married with the blessings of Anish’s relatives, it was Rajitha’s dream to deck up in all finery as a beautiful bride. She even believed that it was her fate that she had such a lackluster wedding day.
In all the pictures that were clicked on their wedding day, Rajitha looked sad and gloomy. However, the couple kept the album as the memories were special. They say that they always felt upset whenever they looked at those pictures.
Anish wasn’t sure how to gift his wife a beautiful and memorable wedding day that she had yearned for. An upcoming writer and social worker, Anish had shared his dilemma with Meera Ajithkumar, a fellow social worker. It was she who made all the arrangements for the wedding photoshoot. Anish and Rejitha got ready as groom and bride. But, this time, there was a big smile on Rejitha’s face. The Save The Date, Pre and Post wedding photo shoot was held at various locations in Thiruvananthaouram including Attukal temple and Shankumugham Beach. Theses beautifully shot pictures have been turned into a digital album that the couple can cherish forever. Moreover, these pictures are super hits on the social media too.
Anish even penned a fabulous poem for his wife, in which he calls her the love of his life.
Interestingly, Anish leads a charitable organization called ‘Snehayatra’ based in Valiakottakkal that offers help and support for physically disabled children under 15 years. He even writes under the pseudonym Snehayatra’. This group was active during the floods, delivering essential items to the needy. Besides, Anish coordinates a different group that organizes blood donation camps.
