Care products firm makes it a special day for Kochi old age home

Kochi: In an act of compassion, a Kochi-based company on Saturday joined the residents of a government-run old age home to celebrate this year's International Day for Older Persons.

ANK Lifecare, which makes care products for elderly people for the over 50 residents of the Old Age Home at Thevara in Kochi, apart from organising a musical event for them.

Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden inaugurated the event. Eden praised the support system for the elderly people in the state, especially its healthcare system, and thanked the company for extending a helping hand to the needy.

Ankit Mehta, head, ANK Lifecare, said his company organised the event as a social mission. "We have been into marketing elderly care products, including adult diapers, for the past five years. We are very glad to spend this Day for Older Persons with the residents of this institution," Mehta said.

Apart from the company's adult diapers, it also donated wheelchairs, walking sticks and medical testing devices to the old age home.

Cochin Corporation welfare standing committee chairperson Sheeba Lal, development standing committee chairman P R Raneesh and old age home superintendent Sajeev A spoke at the event. A music programme by Studio M Band as held as part of the event. The residents of the old age home also showcased their artistic talents.
