Thressya Nimila spends most of her days in college and at her home, moving around in her wheel chair. However, she didn’t set any limitation for her dreams and was determined to achieve them. Thressya was overjoyed when she shined as a model in a photoshoot that has gone viral now. More than the modelling stint, Thressya was delighted to see the ocean and enjoy the unique experience of it. Thressya doesn’t have any qualms in openly saying that she needs the support of others to do everything.

“I am a second year sociology student at the Sacred Heart College in Thevara. I always liked to do makeup and click pictures. One day, my teacher Adila Kabeer showed me a video in which a girl, who had my same condition, do modelling. I messaged my teacher expressing my wish to try my hands in modelling. She sent my pictures to a few photographers who do photoshoots. They liked my pictures and gave me the opportunity to become a model. The shoot began at 7 am and we wrapped up around 7 pm. I hadn’t been to the beach before. So, when I told them that, they decided to shoot at Fort Kochi. I was really happy that day. I don’t even know whether I will have another day like this in my life. It was so special,” Thressya says about her beach photoshoot.

She wishes to pursue a career in modelling and also become a collector by clearing the civil service exam. However, Thressya needs a sponsor to realise her dreams. She is interested in speech and extempore.

Thressya says that she plans to set a record by speaking for the longest duration. Thressya feels blessed that she enjoys great support from her home as well as her college. Everyone says that the joy that she felt in her heart could be seen on her face in her photoshoot pictures. Thressya says that she is just disabled physically, but is interested in trying all activities.

It was celebrity makeup artist Jaseena Kadavil who did Thressya’s makeup for the photoshoot. She was part of Jaseena’s Catalyst Scholars Makeover series. In the video, Thressya’s eyes could be seen filling up with tears of joy as she watches the ocean. Meanwhile, her confident smile exudes great hope and aspirations for a fabulous future.
