Moni Bhonsle, who gained media attention during the Maha Kumbh Mela, is entering the film industry. She has received an invitation to star in Bollywood director Sanoj Mishra's film, 'The Diary of Manipur'. Sanoj Mishra, the director of films like 'Ram Janmabhoomi', 'The Diary of West Bengal', and 'Kashi to Kashmir', also shared a picture of himself with Moni on social media.
Sanoj Mishra visited Moni's residence in Maheshwar, a village in Madhya Pradesh, and finalized the film contract. 'Mona Lisa' had earlier stated that she would be interested in acting in films if her family approved.
Mishra met Moni's father and was blown away by the innocence of the family and assured his support for the girl and her future in the movie industry. "I have taken up the responsibility to present her in my film in the best way and also will take care of her future in films," he said in a video posted on Instagram. Moni too expressed her happiness on learning that the director had gone to Prayagraj in search of her and vowed to work hard to move forward.
The dream-like rise of Moni Bhonsle began after she came into the limelight while selling malas (garlands) during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Her pictures and videos went viral on social media, attracting many people who came to see her and take pictures. Following this, her father sent her back home.
Moni had clarified that she returned home considering her family's safety and due to illness, and added that she would return for the next Kumbh Mela. There were also reports that the girl received ten crore rupees within days of her pictures and videos going viral. However, she responded stating that all those were false rumours.
