After Nissan, Ernst & Young's international IT centre coming to TVPM

Thiruvananthapuram: After Nissan Global Digital Hub, Thiruvananthapuram is set to host leading consultancy firm Ernst & Young's global IT centre. The Managed Services Centre will offer 3,000 high-profile jobs.

The Managed Services Centre will be apart from its existing Global Services Delivery Centre in Thiruvananthapuram. The centre will be spread across four lakh square feet at Kinfra Park.

During talks with Ernst & Young's global vice-chairman Srinivasa Rao, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan offered all help from the government's side. The announcement of the project is likely to be made soon. Earlier, Ernst & Young global managing partner Carmine D Sibio and his team had held talks with the chief secretary.

Managed services provide various IT services to other companies. In companies that handle several IT divisions, some of their sections are handed over to managed services companies. The managed services company has the full responsibility of the services they are handling. And the companies can concentrate on their core businesses.

In the past, managed services mainly used to remotely control servers. With the growth of cloud computing facility, they started handling all types of services.

Ernst & Young is looking at buildings that are nearing completion at Kinfra Park. At present, Ernst & Young has about 5,000 employees in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.
