The website, just a few months old, has already picked up a vibrant customer base outside the state. The directors of the portal claimed that 30 per cent of its customers are non-Keralites. Plans to go global are very much afoot, they revealed.
The portal is designed to become the one-stop destination for handlooms, handicrafts, spices, gift articles and apparels for Keralites across the world. The products on offer are such that their manufacturers, primarily artisans, are likely to benefit as the sales pick up.
Armed with a cutting-edge technical team, Keralaspecial.in seeks to bridge the gap between unorganised suppliers and prospective customers.
The procurement team claimed high quality products are located and directly sourced from manufactures and suppliers. They find a slot on the page only after strict quality checks.
The portal has also set up a strategic partnership with India Post and other courier services. Goods can be purchased by cash-on-delivery mode or by using secured payment gateways enabling credit cards.
