A digital fence to keep employees protected from COVID

Kochi: Do you want to ensure employees maintain six feet distance while interacting amid the COVID pandemic? Or do you want to identify people who have been close to COVID patients? All you need is an ID tag.

Bengaluru-based Flemenco Tech and Wakes Tech run by Malayalees have come out with ‘D-Fence’ electronic tag for the purpose. Many leading companies have come forward to make the tag the world over.

Currently, Delhi Airport Company, PTS Japan, Mac Industries, leading two-wheeler, bio and pharma companies have procured the tags for use by their employees. Leading IT and manufacturing companies have entered into an agreement with Flemenco Tech to market the product globally.

There are also contracts to sell the product in the US, Japan and Singapore.

The unique feature of D-Fence (Digital Fence) is that it is simple to operate and cost-effective.

It works with a name tag that can be worn around the neck or belt, a zone monitor system installed in offices and software hosted in the cloud. The ID card holder contains the chip, battery and buzzer.

All employees must wear the tag and they will hear a beep from the buzzer as a warning if they don’t maintain the distance mandated by COVID norms.

That’s not all. The tag provides details of how much time each employee spent at the office and where they were in each of those moments.

There is no need for an attendance record. Employees will not be tagged when they leave the office and go beyond the limits of the zone monitor system.

The D-Fence’s technology has been patented in the US.

As orders flow in, the biggest challenge is to cater to all of them, said Flemenco Tech CEO Bala Chiottoor.
